Three-Star OT Ty McCurry Enjoys College Station Visit

COLLEGE STATION, TX — Texas A&M made a strong impression on Class of 2028 offensive tackle Ty McCurry this past weekend.

The three-star offensive tackle out of Southlake Carroll was in College Station on Saturday night for the Aggies' season opener against Missouri State. #8 Texas A&M rolled to a 50-0 shutout in front of a huge crowd at Kyle Field.

For an offensive tackle, the part that mattered most was up front: the Aggies ran for 236 yards as a unit while the defense held the Bears under 70 total yards.

It wasn't McCurry's first trip to College Station. By his account, it was the best one yet. "I really appreciate the A&M staff having me out this weekend. Every time I come out it gets better and better," McCurry said.

The Aggies have put themselves in a really good spot for the in-state product, "Coach Elko has not only developed an amazing team, but created a family. Spending time with the coaches and getting to watch them coach the lineup up close really solidified them as a top contender in my recruiting. I have a long way to go in the process, but last night was an awesome experience."

The 6-foot-6, 295-pound McCurry is one of the more physically ready tackles in the state's 2028 class. Texas A&M is in a contender group that includes SMU, TCU, Texas, Ohio State, Auburn, Baylor, and UCLA, and others. But, McCurry has been clear that he's in no rush to decide.

But a phenomenal crowd, a shutout, and a front-row look at how Elko's staff coaches the offensive line is about as good as a visit weekend gets. The Aggies are trending in the right direction.
