Texas Commit Five-Star WR Easton Royal Sets Up Visits

Easton Royal remains committed to Texas and is traveling frequently this fall.

The five-star wide receiver from Brother Martin in New Orleans has scheduled four visits over the next three months, with only one being to Austin:

• LSU — Sept. 5

• Texas — Sept. 12

• Florida — Sept. 26

• LSU — Nov. 14

Two visits to Lane Kiffin's LSU in Baton Rouge, one to Jon Sumrall’s Florida in Gainesville, and back to Austin with Steve Sarkisian.

Royal committed to Texas over LSU, Oregon, and Ole Miss, and has shown loyalty to the Longhorns. Texas aims to keep him from flipping to LSU or Florida.

Lane Kiffin and his staff have targeted Royal since he took the job, and LSU has never backed off. The hometown pull is real, and LSU has been building its 2027 class around Louisiana talent.

Royal will watch the first game of Kiffin’s era in Baton Rouge, then return November 14 when LSU hosts Texas. His hometown school gets him on campus for a night game against the program he’s committed to.

The Gators have gained ground in this recruitment under first-year head coach Jon Sumrall, and they don't consider it a long shot. Royal visited Gainesville in June and will return September 26, when Florida hosts Ole Miss in a key SEC game.

Sumrall’s staff is making a clear pitch to Royal. A new offense, a new coordinator in Buster Faulkner, and a receiver room where a five-star can step in and be the guy immediately.

The Longhorns aren’t sitting still. Royal will visit Austin on September 12 for Texas vs Ohio State, one of the biggest non-conference games on the national schedule.

That’s the game Texas wants him at. It’s important to note his current loyalty to Texas. He visited all spring and summer and returned to Austin in June for what was called his final official visit. So far, Texas has held strong.

But the November 14 date is one to mark on the calendar. LSU gets the last visit, at home against Texas, three weeks before signing day.
