Four-Star QB Julian Reese II Picks Delaware, Becomes Highest-Rated Commit in Program History

On Friday Afternoon, the Blue Hens landed a big time, maybe the biggest commitment they have had yet.

Four-star quarterback Julian Reese II announced his commitment to the Blue Hens, choosing the program over offers from Wake Forest and Houston. The commitment makes Reese the highest-rated commit in Delaware history.

For Reese, the decision came down to feel, “Delaware just felt like home when I stepped foot on campus,” he said. “The atmosphere, the relationships I built with the coaches and players, and the way everyone treated me made it feel like the right place. I could see myself growing there both as a player and as a person.”

Wake Forest and Houston both made serious pushes. Neither could match what Delaware built with him over the course of the process. He said, “Wake Forest and Houston are both great programs, but Delaware made me feel like family from day one,” Reese said. “The connection I had with the coaching staff and players was special, and I felt like they truly believed in me and had a plan for my future.”

QBs Coach Garrett Smith played a huge role in landing the talented four-star quarterback. “Coach Smith played a huge role in my decision,” Reese said. “We built a great relationship throughout the recruiting process, and he was always honest with me. The entire staff made me feel wanted, but Coach Smith definitely had a big impact.”

Reese kept his final word short. He said, “Thank you for all the love and support you’ve already shown me,” he said. “I’m excited to get to Delaware. Go Blue Hens.”
