Who is Dorin Buca?

Rutgers has dipped back into the transfer portal, this time grabbing Kansas State center Dorin Buca. Buca began his career in Italy, where he spent time across the second and third-level leagues. He then transferred to Kansas State, where he averaged 3.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game across 27 appearances.

Buca offers Rutgers an intriguing prospect who brings elite size to the center position. He has a high block rate and provides solid rebounding whenever he is on the floor. Standing at 7'2" and 255 lbs, Buca certainly has the size to play at the Big Ten level, though he has areas to clean up to maximize his potential. While he currently has relatively high foul and turnover rates, a fresh start at Rutgers provides a new opportunity to improve those weaknesses and into a more complete prospect. Buca is expected to back up Virginia Tech transfer Christian Gurdak, forming an intriguing duo at the center position.
