Texas Lands Early Commitment Of Four-Star QB Neimann Lawrence

Steve Sarkisian has locked in a very talented QB for the 2028 Cycle. One that fits the Texas system almost perfectly.

At The Opening, Four-star quarterback Neimann Lawrence announced his commitment to the Longhorns on Thursday, giving Steve Sarkisian and his staff one of the biggest quarterback pledges in the 2028 recruiting cycle.

The 6'1, 210lbs signal caller is from Miami, Florida. Lawrence enters his junior season after making a notable move this offseason, transferring to powerhouse American Heritage after previously playing at Miami Northwestern.

For Texas, landing an early commitment from a quarterback of Lawrence's caliber is a significant recruiting victory. He chose Texas over Texas A&M, Miami, Michigan, and Notre Dame, ending a highly competitive recruitment that featured some of the nation's premier programs.

The Longhorns made a strong impression throughout the process and ultimately separated themselves from a talented field of contenders. Texas consistently stood out to Lawrence, and the combination of Sarkisian's offensive system, quarterback development, and the relationships proved difficult to beat.

Lawrence is widely regarded as one of the more polished quarterback prospects in the 2028 class. His accuracy immediately jumps off the screen.

Whether operating from the pocket or throwing on the move, Lawrence consistently delivers catchable footballs and displays outstanding ball placement. He shows the ability to fit passes into tight windows while maintaining touch and timing at all levels of the field. Lawrence has a natural feel for navigating pressure and keeping plays alive without abandoning structure.

His mobility adds another dimension to his game without forcing him to rely on it. And his arm talent is impressive, whether attacking deep downfield or firing passes into intermediate windows, he showcases the arm strength and natural throwing ability that college coaches covet.
