Louisville Football Recruits - Week One

High school football season is underway, and with that many people are probably wondering how Louisville commits are doing in their senior season. In an attempt to inform those people, I will be posting updates weekly on each commit and how they did in their most recent game! Subscribe to my page to follow along!!

WR Ja’Hyde Brown (Christian Academy of Louisville): 

Ja’Hyde “JaHeisman” Brown lived up to his nickname in week one of his high school season as he put up a ridiculous stat line against Pikeville (KY). Brown hauled in 11 catches, totaled 180 yards, and amassed 4 touchdowns. The craziest part of this statline is the fact that he did it in just 2 quarters. CAL travels to Owensboro to take on the Red Devils on Friday, August 29, at 7:30 PM. 

RB AJ Tillman (Lithonia): 

Tillman is a high four star in the 2027 class and plays for Lithonia high school in Lithonia, Georgia. In week one, AJ ran the ball 10 times for 102 yards (10.2 YPC) and a touchdown in a blowout win over M.L King Lions (Lithonia, GA). Lithonia travels to Valdosta, Georgia to take on the Lowndes Vikings on Friday, September 4th at 8:00 PM. 

TE D’Angelo White (Villa Angela-St. Joseph)

Another four star recruit, D’Angelo White is a physical TE out of Cleveland, Ohio. Unfortunately, I can not find the statline for D’Angelo’s week one game, but his team did fall in double OT to the Perkins Pirates, 44-41. VASJ take on the Taft Senators (Cincinnati) this Friday at 7:00 PM. 

DL Kadin Fife (Cherokee County):

Did not play this week. His next game is Friday, August 28th against Piedmont (Alabama).

S Jordan Haskins (Bryan Station):

Again, stats are not publicly available, but Bryan Station fell to South Warren 32-9. Haskins plays again this Saturday against Boyle County (KY).

S Keontay Toomer (Ben Davis):

Stats not available. Ben Davis takes on Avon (Indiana) this Friday at 7:00PM.

LB Josiah Pouncy (Taft):

Stats not available. Taft takes on Villa Angela-St Joseph this Friday, where Pouncy will take on fellow Louisville commit D’Angelo White.

QB Dre’Mail Carothers (Owensboro Catholic):

Owensboro Catholic lost by 31 to Boyle County last week, but it didn’t stop Carothers from having a great game. He finished 25/41 passing, threw for 395 yards, and totaled 3 touchdowns in the game. Owensboro Catholic takes on Daviess County (KY) Friday, August 28th at 7:00PM. 

DL Sebastian Blue (Trinity):

Trinity football destroyed nationally ranked Anderson (Ohio) last week, 59-13. Unfortunately, I can not find publicly available stats for this game.It is likely that Blue only played around 2 and a half quarters, as that is when most Trinity starters got pulled. Trinity travels to Missouri to take on Christian Brothers College on August 28th. 

RB Justice Hardy (Wilson):

Did not play this week, travels to Governor Mifflin this Friday at 7:00 PM for their first game of the season.

EDGE Munir Lewis (Brush):

Stats are not publicly available, but the Brush defense did hold Euclid to just 14 points in the game. Brush plays North Ridgeville (Ohio) at 7:00 PM this Friday. 

DL Jesiah Fields (Corvian Community School):

Jesiah had a very good opening game, as he recorded 3 tackles including 1 TFL, 1 Sack, and 1 QB hurry. The 6’4 DL out of Charlotte, North Carolina is one of the Cards most underrated commits. He takes on Independence (NC) this Friday at 8:00 PM. 

DL Cornelius Tims (South Fort Meyers): 

In a blowout win last Friday, Tims recorded 8 total tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 sack. He also forced 1 fumble in the win. Tims plays again this Thursday against Riverdale (Florida) at 7:30 PM.

IOL Kyson Mallard (Westover):

While there are not trackable stats for offensive lineman in high school, Mallard’s team did rush for over 280 yards and 3 touchdowns, while averaging nearly 7 yards per carry last week. They also did not allow a sack in the entire game. Mallard plays again on Friday, August 28 at 7:30 PM against Seminole County (Georgia).

LB Darrian Tomlin (Woodford County):

Woodford County won heavily last week, and Tomlin led the way on a dominant defense. He led the team with 6 tackles, and earned praise from his coach after the game. Head coach Dennis Johnson said that he “thought Tomlin was solid defensively, he was all over the field.” Woodford County plays again this Friday against Bourbon County (Kentucky) at 7:30 PM. 

TE Xavier Ratica (Lakota West):

Stats are, once again, not publicly available for Ratica’s first game. He plays again this Friday against Lakota East at 7:00 PM.
