Who Will Be QB1 For The Rams This Season?

The Colorado State Rams have a tough choice to make when selecting their starting quarterback for the 2026-27 college football season. After a failure of a season last year, going 2-10, the Rams have hit refresh on their offensive system.

There is a battle between redshirt sophomore Hauss Hejny from Oklahoma State, sophomore Ksaan Farrar from UCONN, redshirt sophomore Darius Curry who showed potential flashes last season as a Ram, redshirt junior Tommy Poholsky who walked on at Colorado State in 2024, and the two freshmen Darnell Kelly and Carter Emanuel.

Hauss Henjy (#8) in Spring Ball

Hauss Hejny has the most to prove out of all the QBs. He started his career at TCU, where as a freshman he appeared in 4 games. Tallying 15 rushes for 65 yards and throwing no passes. Hauss then transferred as a redshirt freshman to Oklahoma State. In Stillwater, he played in just 1 game against UT-Martin. Hejny had 5/10 completions for 96 yards and a single touchdown. He rushed four times for 27 yards and found the endzone for the second time that game. He looked destined to be the OKST Cowboys QB1 during the season opener, but then he suffered an injury and missed the rest of the season.

Ksaan Farrar (#2) in Fall Ball

Ksaan Farrar has been making some noise on his own in the battle for the starting quarterback spot. He started his collegiate career back at UCONN with now Rams head coach Jim Mora. As a freshman he didn’t see the field much. In the 2 games he played in, he totaled 11/18 passing for 84yds, 9 rushes for 30 yards and 1 touchdown. Ksaans lone rushing touchdown came with 6 minutes left in UCONNs 16-41 loss in the Fenway Bowl to Army.

Darius Curry (#3) in a game against Boise State

Darius Curry played in 5 games last season for the Colorado State Rams but only starting 2/5. Curry totaled 70/107 passing, 740 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. On the ground he had 17 rushes for just 25 yards. In a season where the light was dim for the Rams, Darius showed some promise at the quarterback position, especially whenever starting quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi disappeared from the roster mid-season.

Between the three quarterbacks who have seen the college field before, the walk on, and the two true freshmen, who do you think will be named the starter for the 2026-27 college football season? I have my prediction, but I’d like to hear yours!
