FC Barcelona Center Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje

Duke lands a 7 foot 230 pound center from FC Barcelona. Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje is only 16 years old. This young man will turn 17 years old in a few weeks. He averaged 16.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game this past season for FC Barcelona. He reclassified from the 2027 class to the 2026 class. JBB committed to Duke in late April. His recruitment came down to Duke and UNC. Joaquim and Dame Sarr used to play with each other at FC Barcelona. Joaquim will be on campus with the incoming recruiting class this summer!!! Jon Scheyer yet again adds another one to an insane recruiting class.

This young man has a chance to be a important piece to the puzzle for Jon Scheyer and company this upcoming season. Joaquim is a extremely talented kid that will have two years of college ball before being eligible for the NBA Draft. Joaquim is one of the final pieces for this 2026-2027 Duke basketball roster. Joaquim is the playmaking, do it all 4 man that Duke is known for having and putting in the league. This kid has extremely high upside that can be shown really well in Jon Scheyer’s system. Joaquim can really shoot the basketball well from the perimeter. He brings great size at the 4 and 5 positions for Duke this upcoming season. Joaquim is very versatile defensively. He can guard every position pretty well. It is going to be interesting to watch how the staff uses his skillset and talent. There’s a lot to be excited about with this late addition!!!
