Gabe dynes expected to visit xavier
Xavier is set to get a close look at one of the more unique big men in the portal, as former USC center Gabe Dynes is scheduled to visit the Musketeers during a busy week of trips. Reports indicate Xavier is the first stop on a visit schedule that also includes Kentucky, Louisville, NC State, and Kansas, making this an important early chance for Sean Miller’s staff to make an impression.
Dynes brings size that very few programs can match. He is listed around 7 foot 5 and spent last season at USC after beginning his career at Youngstown State. While his numbers at USC were modest at 2.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game in limited minutes, he has still drawn major interest because of his length, rim protection, and upside as a defensive presence in the paint.
For Xavier, this visit feels like a chance to address frontcourt size in a big way. Dynes may not be a finished product offensively, but players with his frame and shot blocking ability do not come around often. If the Musketeers can sell him on role, development, and fit, Xavier could put itself firmly in the mix for one of the portal’s most intriguing centers.
