0 Starters Returning Next Year

As things stand in mid-April, Texas Tech is staring at a major reset. The Red Raiders are on track to bring back none of the main starters from the 2025 to 2026 team, with Donovan Atwell out of eligibility, Jaylen Petty headed to UCLA through the portal, and Christian Anderson off to the NBA Draft. JT Toppin’s status still looks like the biggest question mark, but the roster turnover is already big enough to make it clear that next year’s team will look nothing like the one fan just watched.

For Grant McCasland, that means another full scale rebuild in a sport where roster change has become the norm. Texas Tech has proven it can reload, but losing this much shot creation, scoring, and experience at once is a huge blow. The good news for Tech is that the program is still in a strong spot nationally and should stay active in the portal. Still, there is no way around it, the Red Raiders are heading into next season with a brand new look and, at least right now, no clear returning starter from this past group.
