Arkansas Lands Three-Star CB Stanley Peters Jr

Arkansas continued to build momentum in its 2027 recruiting class on Thursday, landing a commitment from one of Mississippi's most intriguing defensive back prospects.

Three-star cornerback Stanley Peters Jr. announced his commitment during The Opening, choosing the Razorbacks over Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Houston.

The 5’10, 165lbs cornerback from Seminary High School in Seminary, Mississippi, gives Arkansas another important addition in the secondary and a recruiting win over several programs much closer to home.

For much of the recruiting process, Ole Miss appeared to be one of the biggest threats to land Peters. The Rebels made a strong push for the in-state standout and worked to keep one of Mississippi's top defensive backs close to home.

Ryan Silverfield and the Razorbacks had other plans. The Razorbacks hosted Peters for an official visit on June 5, and that trip proved to be a pivotal moment in his recruitment. Arkansas positioned itself firmly near the top of his board following the visit, and the coaching staff continued to build momentum throughout June.

He is widely regarded as one of the fastest players in the country, and that speed shows up consistently on film. Whether he's carrying receivers vertically, closing on the football, or tracking down plays in space, Peters has the burst and acceleration to make up ground in a hurry.

He plays with good footwork, demonstrates natural instincts in coverage, and has shown an ability to stay connected to receivers throughout routes. For Arkansas, this is the type of commitment that could pay major dividends down the road.
