ole miss basketball adds key pieces with clark and okafor

Just a week after the Rebs landed Pitt forward Roman Siupela, Beard is continuing the momentum in the transfer portal with two instant impact pieces. Seton Hall guard Adam “Budd” Clark and Washington State big-man ND Okafor.

Clarks commitment fills a major piece in the roster with the departure of point guards Travis Perry and Eduardo Klafke. Clark came off a strong season at Seton Hall where he averaged 12.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists earning an All Big East honor. Before Seton Hall, Clark began at Merrimack where he was ranked 23rd nationally in scoring at 19.8 PPG. He wasnt just a offensive weapon, his freshman year Clark finished fifth nationally in total steals and steals per game. His Freshman year was just as good where he became the NEC Rookie of the Year and All NEC averaging 13.4 PPG.

In addition to strenghtening the guard position, Ole Miss addressed the front court transfer spot with the addition of ND Okafor from Washingotn St. The 6 foot 10 forward averaged 11.0 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 1.4 BPG and earned All-WCC honors. He also was ranked 2nd in the conference with 46 total blocks. Okafor originally from Ireland, had a unique background where he spent time at the NBA Academy in Mexico. He averaged 16 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks at the U16 European Championship

With the departure of several players including Augusto Cassià, Corey Chest and Tylis Jordan. Okafar is expected to be a immediate impact the the lineup with his elite athleticism and rim presence.

With three key transfers and Beard not stopping anytime soon. The Rebs are looking to take a significant step forward next season and return back to the big tournament.
