Cooper Bowser Commits to Arkansas

Arkansas has landed an early transfer portal addition with Furman big man Cooper Bowser committing to the Razorbacks. Bowser, who spent the last three seasons with the Paladins, made his decision after an official visit to Fayetteville and becomes one of the first notable portal pieces for John Calipari’s roster rebuild this offseason. Reports list Bowser at 6 foot 11 and note that he will arrive with one year of eligibility remaining.
Bowser comes to Arkansas after putting together the best season of his college career at Furman. He developed into an important part of the Paladins’ frontcourt and helped the program reach the NCAA Tournament. One of his standout moments came in Furman’s Southern Conference Tournament run, when he posted 21 points and 11 rebounds in a win over East Tennessee State. That kind of production is part of what made him an appealing portal target for Arkansas as the Razorbacks look to add more size and experience inside.
For Arkansas, the commitment is important because it gives the program an experienced frontcourt option early in the offseason. Calipari and his staff are working through another major roster reset, and adding a veteran transfer like Bowser gives them a player with college minutes, size, and proven production at a time when portal recruiting is moving quickly. Multiple reports described him as Arkansas’ first transfer portal commitment of this cycle, making the move an early step in shaping next season’s roster.
While Bowser may not be the splashiest national name in the portal, he could still fill a valuable role for the Razorbacks. At 6 foot 11, he gives Arkansas added length and depth in the paint, and his experience in a winning Furman program should help him compete for minutes right away. If he adjusts well to the step up in competition, Bowser could become a useful piece for a team that wants to be stronger and more reliable in the frontcourt heading into the 2026 season.
