Anna Minaeva Signs with LSU Women’s Basketball
Kim Mulkey and LSU women’s basketball have added another intriguing piece to the Tigers’ frontcourt.
LSU has reportedly signed 17-year-old Russian center Anna Minaeva, a 6-foot-5 prospect who brings a combination of size, skill and international experience to Baton Rouge.
At just 17 years old, Minaeva immediately becomes an interesting young addition to an LSU program that continues to bring in talent from all over.
Her 6-foot-5 frame gives the Tigers another big presence around the basket and adds even more depth to the frontcourt. But according to Mulkey, it’s more than just Minaeva’s size that makes her an exciting addition.
Mulkey said Minaeva has the “experience, skill set and size to make an immediate impact.”
That could make Minaeva a player to keep an eye on as she adjusts to college basketball and a new level of competition in the SEC.
LSU has established itself as one of the biggest programs in women’s college basketball under Mulkey, and adding a young international prospect like Minaeva gives the Tigers another player with plenty of potential.
Now, the 17-year-old center will get the opportunity to take the next step in her career in Baton Rouge and show what she can bring to the Tigers’ frontcourt.
