What’s next for Kansas?
Today, Kansas landed it's second commitment from the transfer portal in Toledo guard LeRoy Blyden Jr., the first team all-MAC performer, who averaged 16.4 PPG while shooting 40.1% from the perimeter as a freshman. Kansas now has six scholarships filled for the 2026-27 campaign, which leaves nine spots available (pending Paul Mbiya's decision), but now what’s next?
KU will look to add another ball-handling guard, which KU is targeting in Oklahoma State transfer Vyctorius Miller. Miller will begin an official visit to Kansas today, the 6-foot-5 190-pound sophomore guard averaged 10.8 PPG while shooting 37.5% from deep this past season for the Cowboys.
The Jayhawks need to fill a front-court spot, as the Jayhawks are still looking for a starting center after Flory Bidunga parted ways with the Jayhawks this offseason. With Moustapha Thiam likely to go to Michigan, and Anton Bonke taking visits elsewhere, the Jayhawks have turned their attention to a new center. Christian Reeves, the 7-foot-2, 255-pound junior center, started his career at Duke, where he was a 4-star prospect out of high school. Since then, he’s played at Clemson and Charleston, which is where he played this past season and averaged 11.1 PPG while shooting 65.4% from the field. He will be taking an official visit alongside Miller beginning today. Another center to track is USC big man Gabe Dynes, the 7-foot-5, 214-pound junior center, who is set to visit the Jayhawks next Sunday. He averaged 2.9 PPG this past season for the Trojans. It'll be interesting to see if he makes it to campus before committing elsewhere, as he is set to visit Xavier, Kentucky, Louisville, and NC State all before Kansas.
Kansas is still the favorite for the #1-ranked player in the class of 2026. Tyran Stokes, the 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward, who has visited twice in the past year, is down to Kansas and Kentucky. The staff feels confident that Stokes will be on the roster next season, but his commitment date has still not been set at this time.
